Seducing the enemy has never been so tempting…
For the last five years, bookish Claire Maddox has been living for the dying. Now that her stint as caretaker is over, she’s off to see the world. She needs quick cash first, so a temp job at Anderson Auctions seems perfect, especially with the unexpected benefits, including the hottest man she’s ever laid eyes—or hands—on.
Former Marine William Anderson has been burned one time too many. His military training makes him the perfect man to flush out the spy undercutting his family business, but no amount of training can prepare him for the kind of undercover work he’ll have to do when the sexy new temp is implicated. Desire lands them in bed…but duty may cost him his heart.
My Book Review: Claire Maddox has spent her entire life taking care of everyone but herself. When the opportunity of a lifetime comes her way, she grasps it with both hands. Before she can leave for Egypt she has to finish her temp job, which is all fine and dandy until William Anderson walks into her elevator and catches her by surprise. Now she can't get him out of her head and it seems as if he's worming his way into her heart, but the secret he's keeping from her may just ruin their relationship before it really starts.
William Anderson survived combat overseas only to come back home to be publicly broken up with and humiliated. The war hero turned broken-hearted warrior spends most of his days coped up in his home but when his brother call him in for a special assignment William is determined to find the mole inside their company. What he doesn't expect is clumsy Claire Maddox to come stumbling into his life.
Sleeping with the Boss is humorous, sexy and intriguing. I loved Claire and all her quicks and clumsiness. The quirks and the clumsy side of her just makes her more appealing and real as a character. Her kind heart and compassionate nature just make her that much more wonderful.
William is a hero. His ex did a real number on him, but in the end I was glad he was no longer with her as he was a good guy who deserved better. The pairing of William and Claire was a good match. They seemed to play off one another and complemented each other's personalities well.
The other Anderson brothers seemed pretty appealingly and I can't wait to hear their stories in the future. As for the settings, I liked how the story took place in more than one setting - Home, and exotic location, and Egypt are all so different from one another and yet in each setting throughout the book you can picture yourself there thanks to the descriptive tones Marissa Clarke uses.
Sleeping with the Boss deserves more than 5 stars, but alas, I can only go up to those 5, so I shall say this... Go out and pick up your copy of Sleeping with the Boss today. You won't regret it! ;)
